The Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences Hosts Women’s Luncheon
On December 10, 2024, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences held an elegant Women’s Luncheon in Los Angeles, California, in collaboration with luxury fashion house Chanel. The event celebrated and supported female filmmakers through the newly established Academy Gold Fellowship for Women.
This groundbreaking initiative aims to amplify the voices and creativity of women in cinema, offering personalized mentorship, funding, and a supportive community within the world of motion pictures. Chanel, known for its long history of collaborating with filmmakers and artists, continues the legacy of its founder, Gabrielle “Coco” Chanel, by uplifting women’s voices and fostering their artistic growth.
The Gold Fellowship is a one-year program designed to provide emerging female filmmakers with invaluable guidance, financial backing, and networking opportunities. More than just a professional platform, the Fellowship creates a nurturing community where filmmakers can showcase their talents and connect with industry leaders.
Among the distinguished guests were a host of renowned actresses, including Amy Adams, Regina King, Ariana Grande, Pamela Anderson, Olivia Wilde, Mila Kunis, Rita Wilson, Gal Gadot, Ava DuVernay, Selena Gomez, and Sarah Paulson. The event also featured a heartfelt keynote presentation by Selena Gomez, singer and Emmy-nominated actress, who inspired the audience with her powerful message.
